Perhaps the only good thing about Maneskin is that we get to read informed takedowns like yours, which is more entertaining than any "rock and roll" record produced by Max Martin could ever be! Also, new Bonny Doon sounds nice, somehow lost track of them.

Great read this week, especially in tandem with Hyden’s review of Maneskin. Makes me continually happy to be living in Chicago. Can’t wait for the upcoming UDABABY and Skech185 shows at the Bottle. Would love a longer piece on the pros and cons of CIVL 3 years into their existence. (Adding to my pitches list…) As your piece acknowledges and the recent Hideout controversy proves, no venue is perfect. Oyler’s London Review of Books piece on Trick Mirror is fantastic IMO, great at poking at Tolentino’s recurring faults as a thinker.

Oh, and DAZY were so good live, part of me is still humming from that show in September!
