Great post! Personally love going to concerts alone, and not just because I'm usually the only person who wants to get there super early to grab a good spot. Very glad to have discovered sinai vessel via this post as well.

Saw Wild Pink at a local brewery last month. Funny, I thought the band was bigger, maybe because folks I read a lot like you and Hyden talk about them so much. A small venue and not even close to full, just barely enough so that it wasn't awkward. But killer show, new songs sounding great.

Opener blew me away too, a dude named Greg Mendez playing as a duo. I was like, where have I heard that name before? It was, of course, here.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who has wondered about going to shows alone. I had Steven Hyden answer this question for me in one of his mailbag questions and I've gone solo to several shows since. I was fine going to the movies alone but going to concerts felt stranger for some reason. Glad to have gotten over that, finally.

Saw Wild Pink in Brooklyn at the beginning of this swing - John’s amp gave out midway through their evening set, he plugged into (someone’s?) amp, and ripped through the rest of the set. New songs absolutely soared - the new amp had a big War on Drugs quality. Just a really great set and excited about the music they’re hopefully about to release.

Goddamn, that is a great playlist. I've saved it and have already decided that it'll get another run tomorrow breakfast! Vampire Weekend, Jackie West and Margaux my faves on my first run! Many thanks!

Hell, first time I met you was a concert I attended alone (though I did know people who would be there, just not anywhere near me).

did you see Matt Johnson said he made Blackberry to fund a Nirvanna the Band movie? https://twitter.com/MILFmassacre/status/1769411399254528324 - Stoked on that!
