Man, is that a bad song...I'd rather watch The Idol, LOL. Geese, on the other hand, deserve whatever kudos they get - saw them live last night and they were even better than I expected. Gus Green is my new favorite guitarist - part Robert Quine, part Andy Gill, a little Nile Rodgers, and some John Berry (Beastie Boys) mixed up and spat out in a truly unique fashion.
Love this write-up... it reminds me of when Arctic Monkeys and Lana del Rey both got a ton of backlash to being hyped up early. Obviously it worked out for them in the end, but I feel like because they got so hyped up so soon (before "earning it" through real word of mouth), they got a lot of unnecessary backlash. I'm sure there are countless others who got it that I don't remember and didn't have long careers but these two definitely came to mind
