Wow, the Beatenberg shoutout here really made me smile! Such an underrated band — for those looking for a primer, I covered them back in an old Hear Hear: https://hearhear.substack.com/p/the-best-band-youve-never-heard-of

I'm about 2 months late, but really enjoyed this interview! If you're ever in touch with Peter again, perhaps you can let him know that 'Why Should I Worry?' from the Oliver & Company soundtrack would be a sick Goose cover! Such a bop.

My dad saw Zeppelin on the II tour in Chicago right before leaving for basic training after getting drafted (I just googled it finally, after 40 years of hearing the story: it was at Kinetic Playground, 7/18/69) and he agrees: II is the best LZ record.

Also, the epilogue of The Brutalist makes the movie; I can't imagine loving the film and thinking the Epilogue wasn't the best part.

Props for no longer using Spotify! My family quit and moved to Tidal and I’m really loving the less cluttered UI

It might be a stale topic for some, but I would love to hear about why you have pivoted from Spotify, and why you use the app(s) you now use. I’m in the middle of those mental gymnastics right now!

Thank you, as always, for the music recommendations!

That newsletter will come soon—I read Liz Pelly's 'Mood Machine' earlier this year and will write a much longer thing. But here's the rub: beyond the lower payout for artists and its focus on algorithmic recommendations, Spotify just sounds worse compared to Apple or Tidal.
